Solidworks with cosmos1/20/2023 Then, careful analysis was used to check the factor of safety using the Goodman equation. The SolidWorks model was sized and controlled via Excel. The values of stress and other factors were changed through Visual Basic Editor macro. Once the model was made, and load setup onto the model, simulations were performed to analyze and design the crankshaft for fixed static and fatigue factors of safety using the COSMOS Addin within the Solidworks. The main reason for this decision was that a model of a crankshaft with a constant load gives a lot of scope to show how various factors can be changed in the model through the API, such as dimensions and loads. To accomplish these goals, a model of a crankshaft for a small, single acting positive displacement pump, working under constant load was designed in this project. This approach would open more opportunities to explore the powerful tools of COSMOS through the API. ![]() ![]() ![]() The idea is to show how one can work on the Application Programming Interface through COSMOS, which until now has not been possible. This project involves the creation of a custom module within COSMOS, which is an Addin within the Solidworks environment.
